Ordering of integers
If we move to the left on the number line, the numbers become smaller. For example, #-3# is smaller than #2#. In symbols we write this as #-3<2#.

The arrow on the number line indicates the numbers smaller than or equal to #2#. Here, #2# itself is also smaller than or equal to #2#. In symbols, we write this as #2\leq 2#.

If we now move to the right on the number line, the numbers become bigger. For example, #3# is bigger than #1#. In symbols we write #3\gt1#.
