Rules of differentiation: Rules of computation for the derivative
The derivative of an inverse function
We are given the quadratic function #f(x)=x^2# on the domain #x\geq0#. On this domain the function can be inversed. The inverse function is the square root #f^{-1}(x)=\sqrt{x}#. Use the rule for differentiation of an inverse function to determine the derivative of the square root.
